My wife and I struggled to find package holidays that we wanted to go on and could afford, so we started to plan our adventures ourselves.
We would literally print out or draw maps of countries and mark down everywhere we wanted to go. We tracked our flights and hotels in a spreadsheet and moved pieces of paper around our calendar when we spotted a good deal on a sky dive or something.
It was a lot of effort, but it always paid off.
